Special Notes to 2018 Modifications Class Designations: proficiency and experience levels are designed with numerical values, such as Opti 1 for Beginners, Opti 2 for Advanced Beginners, Opti 3 for Intermediates/Beginning Racers, and Opti 4 for Proficient Racers. Alphabetical class designations refer only to weekly scheduling, A classes are Monday and Wednesday, B classes are Tuesday and Thursday and C classes are Friday. Opti Boat Usage: Opti 1 sailors will use a Club provided Optimist Dinghy, and we recommend that Opti 2 sailors use a Club provided boat as well. This allows for better class time management as the Club boats stay rigged after the morning classes. Opti 4 sailors are required to have their own Optimist Dinghy; using a Club provided boat is no longer a registration option. Opti 4 sailors practice for, and participate in, OCYC and away regattas and the Club Optis are not suitable for competitive racing. Guppies: Guppies must be 5 years old on June 25, 2018, the first day of class. In other words, they must be born before June 26, 2013. In fairness to all Members, this age requirement will be strictly enforced with no exceptions. As part of the Guppy registration process, you will be asked to provide a copy of the prospective Guppy's birth certificate or passport photo page, either as an upload, email or postal service submission. No Guppy registration will be processed until such documents have been provided. Registration without providing proof of birthday does not guarantee a place in the Guppy program. | |||||||
